When I look at my Trent Reznor collection I’m like.. Oh shit.
Fucking hell you have so many more than me O_O
want…
The Prodigy Expanded
I’ve been collecting for some time, getting more and more obsessed with The Prodigy over the years and years I’ve grown up with them, occasionally listening to their music, I initially grew up with “Their Law: Singles 1990 - 2005” and that was all I knew of their music, until I decided to get Music for the Jilted Generation, which lead to just downloading pretty much everything else. Now everything makes sense, all the singles and b-sides are in their right places.
I have now bought all the “Expanded” Releases up to date
Experience (1992): Expanded (B-Sides & Remixes) - 2008
More Music For the Jilted Generation (1993) - 2008
The Fat of the Land (1997): Expanded Edition - 2012
Invaders Must Die (Special Edition) - 2009 not really the style of The Prodigy to release a massive array of releases for one album in the same year… maybe they will release another with more b-sides but I doubt it, because nothing’s really released on vinyl anymore as much so you can’t really say that. But that’s beside the point, they also released a boxset of IMD with 7” vinyls and the CD/DVD that I have (or perhaps it’s another casing or whatever) but I do want the boxset at some stage because I’m getting more and more vinyls. It also has a bunch of other crap, just collector stuff, which I am a collector but on a limited budget.
I also own the 2 DVDs they released. One part of the “Their Law” release, which came in 3 types, the DVD (which I have, it features footage of live performances and the Singles’ Music Videos) the CD of the original line up of tracks, and a limited edition one with an extra CD, which I want to hunt down, because I have never bought an “original” album from them, I may as well get the vinyls if I want that, but I like having the expanded ones, that’s why i haven’t bought “Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned” yet, actually I wasn’t fully into that album, I liked the Singles off it, but yeah, I’ll wait for an expanded for that, even if I have to wait 8 years XD (yeah they tend to release things 15 years intervals. like with Jilted Generation, Fat of the Land and Singles.
World’s On Fire is one of my Favourite live DVDs I own. It also has the CD recording, but I prefer watching the video of course. It’s sooo goood.
AANNND OF COURSE I POST THIS ON THE WRONG BLOG AGAIN haha… grr.
Part 2 of my NIN COLLECTED posts.
“The Packaging/Inside”
[Halo 27V] The Slip: Vinyl, that pretty much explains it all, I have no idea what the CD version looks like, but this one comes in a book like way, the 180g vinyl up one sleeve, and the massive booklet full of MASSIVE lyrics that fill each page, idk how they managed it, but it’s a really pretty home for the final release before NIN’s hiatus.
[Halo 24] Year Zero: Hand Holding Bible - ThermoChrome CD that responds in changing from black to white revealing binary after being heated up (ie: being in a cd player playing). My hand was pretty cold so I couldn’t make a handprint on it when I took it, but you can see that all over the internet. and then the Hand holing AK47 I believe which incases the booklet on that side, with the stylized american flag insignia like thing “art is resistance” a motto which appeared throughout the fictitious backstory of this concept album, even though it’s not far from the truth.
[Halo 22] Beside You In Time: Live DVD, single disc no CD recording, just pure footage from NIN’s tour after [With_Teeth] was released, oh and the Music Videos, and an archive of all the releases so far with extra videos.
[Halo 21] [Every Day Is Exactly The Same] - EP: First buy as I’ve said before, shiny cd, simple 4 panel digipak, nuff sed.
[Halo 19] [With_Teeth]: Really sick artwork, featuring what I believe to be the first portrait of Trent Reznor released as album art, with great design by Rob Sheridan I think.
[Halo 17.1] And All That Could Have Been: It’s pretty slapped together, minimal artwork, random booklet that doesn’t really live anywhere is just sits there and can occasionally fall out of digipak. I’m really wanting to look for the Boxset with “Still” and the DVD n stuff, that would be great but this was cheap so I bought it then and there when I could.
[Halo 16] Things Falling Apart: Most Favourite Release as I’ve said, but I was disappointed that my most prized possession of this collection is in a plain Jewel Casing… are you kidding, what happened… I still love the art though, you just cant “feel” it like you can with all the digipaks, except the CD does have an unusual texture on it… (Yes. I like the feel of CD cases, if they’re cardboard)
[Halo 14] The Fragile: Massive Gatefold Digipak, double album, 6 Panel, lyric booklet and unusual textured CDs like H16, the ultimate album.
[Halo 13] The Day The World Went Away: Single styled digipak, 4 panel, simple artwork which is beautiful, and 3 tracks, TDDWWA (Album Version)/Starfuckers, Inc./TDTWWA (Quiet), I think the quiet one is really beautiful. That’s why I really wanted to grab this one.
[Halo 11] The Perfect Drug: Really simple artwork, hardly anything at all inside, but I love it, I love the music that came from that, one of my childhood memories was the remixes of TPD.
[Halo 8] The Downward Spiral: The Most unusual album packaging ever. It consists of a cardboard slipcase with the album art we all know of, then it has a thick booklet to the side with grimy artwork from that era, and a thin jewelcase (which was broken when I bought it) that you’d normally house Singles in, the CD is upside down facing the outside, and the ”front” of the case is sort of just more artwork, creepy stuff, very interesting. and the art on the CD is an outline of what was used later as “Closer To God” EP Halo 9.
[Halo 2R] Pretty Hate Machine: Remastered, completely changed from the original artwork and packaging, it comes in a transparent plastic slipcase, which slides off (it only has the info and title stuff that was sort of like in the original one, but this one is a 6 panel (unusually) digipak instead of a jewelcase. CD on one side, then the other side folds down to reveal info and the NIN logo which you can see. Really cool, really sexy, and shiny. My favourite after With Teeth in artwork and Casing.
[Sigil 2] How To Destroy Angels EP: Released in a Record style package, really simple, interesting artwork and info blah blah blah the usual, but I like it, I like it’s very different style to NIN, but still as dark and mysterious as NIN. Their album art for the next couple (An Omen EP & Welcome Oblivion Album) have the same sort of glitchy artwork as a mixed With Teeth x Year Zero theme, all done by Rob Sheridan, but it seemed to be just leading up to the moment where Nine Inch Nails will be returning, even though the new artwork for “Hesitation Marks” has a resemblance to The Downward Spiral era art. *shrugs* interesting facts.
Cannot wait to add that to my collection.
Part 1 of my NIN COLLECTED Posts
[Halo 2R] Pretty Hate Machine (Remastered); my newest buy, a remastered (obviously) version of the 1989 Debut of Nine Inch Nails, extreme difference with album art/packaging which you’ll see in the next post, very sexy.
[Halo 8] The Downward Spiral; original packaging
[Halo 11] The Perfect Drug - Versions; US version, therefore no original track (originally released for “The Lost Highway” Movie OST directed by David Lynch)
[Halo 13] The Day The World Went Away - Single; this and the perfect drug EP were given to me by my uncle who is also a collector of fine music in hardcopy style.
[Halo 14] The Fragile; my favourite album. A fan’s favourite I guess, everyone seems to love it.
[Halo 16] Things Falling Apart - Versions from The Fragile Sessions; a nostalgic release for me, probably my favourite nine inch nails release forever.
[Halo 17.1] And All That Could Have Been - CD1; The CD recording of The Fragility 2.0 Tour that was recorded as video footage also released as part of the AATCHB’s “Halo 17” which also included 17.2 “Still” which had recordings of stripped down acoustic renditions of previous songs, and a few exclusives. (My Uncle has and won’t part from his copy of the boxset CD1/CD2 AATCHB&Still cds)
[Halo 19] [With_Teeth]; Sexy Artwork inside and out, you’ll see the rest later.
[Halo 21] [Every Day is Exactly the Same] - EP; First NIN buy, love it, love the remixes, love everything.
[Halo 22] Beside You In Time - Live; DVD, live, concert, awesome, with extra bonus music videos from the singles (only, the hand that feeds) and Live at the Rehearsals footage
[Halo 24] Year Zero; The Greatest Hardcopy ever… Thermochrome CD, hidden messages and websites and shit, concept album, EVERYTHING IS AMAZING ABOUT THIS RELEASE.
[Halo 27V] The Slip; MY VINYL, bought from my lovely good friend when we used to go out with each other.
[Sigil 2] How To Destroy Angels_ EP; HDA’s Eponymous EP which is pretty much the only release I enjoyed of theirs.
“Good For Nothing (K21 Remix) - Hilltop Hoods”
Great Tune, One of my favourites.
Yo what’s up, my name is D-Sisive,
and I’m transmitting live, from Canada,
Freezing. Canada.
Where it’s always cold, and Freezing.
Australians wouldn’t know anything about that because it’s always warm in Australia.
And don’t talk to me about “oh it’s our winter now, so it’s kind of cold”
No. I don’t know why you guys sell sweaters, or hooded sweatshirts.
What you call winter, we call summer.
I don’t know why I’m talking about weather.
I should be talking about the Golden Era Records Mixtape,
I should be talking about the Hilltop Hoods,
I should be talking about The Funkoars,
I should be talking about Vents, Briggs and K21,
That’s what I should be doing.
But I won’t because I’m against the grain,
Like Hip-Hop.
MWAIR…
That’s the noise that I make, on hip-hop songs,
because,
being against the grain means having your own noise,
and mine is…
MWAIIIR.
s’like a dying hobo…
being woken up as he’s dying…
MWAIR.
Golden Era.
Doin’ it big for twenty thirteen yo.
D-Sisive, out.

“Phat Cap/Euthanasia” EP by Cause4Concern.
I can’t wait to spin this, just bought it at “Alley Tunes” a small record store hidden away around near the Glenferrie Station just out of Melbourne.
It caught my attention as I was searching all the minimal/tech house/drum n bass/dubstep vinyls in there, and omg there’s soo much House music I’m not even kidding. But “Phat Cap” was a track from my childhood, in a mixed live album “On Tour” by Adam Freeland. So when I saw this for a quite cheap price, man I just had to snatch that up.
I haven’t heard anything else from C4C but I’m actually tempted to occasionally come into the store and just but random cheap vinyls because I can and it’d be fun to find new stuff :3
Enjoy your musicing!
listening to an album for the first time is weird bc you have to give your full attention to it and you cant sing along

Released today and unfortunately interrupted by radio station inserts, but a brilliant mix by the very talented French EDM artist, Madeon.
Generally just all around funky and hopefully enough to hold off for a better release.
There are some remixes that suck, and some that blow the roof of this place… And this was… ONE OF THE BEST THINGS I EVER DID HEAR!
Madeon honestly just is an incredibly talented EDM producer—phenomenally creative and has a super unique sound to him. Through and through, I am a Muser, and so our Teignmouth gents have the strongest hold on my heart, but Madeon still holds his own, as do Zedd and Porter Robinson (the former of which is my absolute favorite EDM artist, and who also has cited Muse as an influence, I believe).
If you actually are interested in checking Madeon out, though, his most popular track is Pop Culture (it has a few million views on youtube, actually) and my favorite song of his is The City! His Minimixes are also super crazy amazing, and he has used Muse in those, too, as he is a fellow fan. v u v
we’ll get a better version without the radio crap when the ps single comes out tomorrow yaaay \o/
